CURRENT RESPONSIBILITIES
Darin’s primary role is to manage sales and marketing functions for major after market and new tower products and services for selected clients throughout the U.S. with an emphasis on large electric utility concrete tower installations. The main objectives of the assignment are to promote the capabilities of EvapTech, assure that EvapTech is responsive to client requests, and coordinate the company’s proposed solutions.
Darin’s main responsibilities include generating and supporting sales activity with assigned customers. His responsibilities also include product and application training and education for clients, conducting inspections and interviews to define customer requirements, and generating responsive proposals.
Other responsibilities include guiding product development efforts, providing product feedback, and diagnosis of customer complaints and warranty claims.

Extensive engineering and cooling tower industry experience acquired since 1990 involving a variety of positions as follows:
- 2008 to Present – EvapTech Inc., Business Development Manager
- 2006 to 2008: Burns & McDonnell Engineering, Process and Industrial Division, Business Development Manager - Manage relationship with assigned Process and Industrial clients before, during and after the sale, develop and lead business strategy, lead proposal efforts among construction, estimating and design disciplines, lead contract negotiations, conduct formal presentations at client meetings, represent company at industry trade shows and conferences.
- 2006: SPX Cooling Technologies, Global Product Manager (Wet Cooling) – Responsible for overall global product strategy and product development initiatives, analyze market research for existing, new and emerging products, develop product definitions responsive to market requirements, drive changes/enhancements for existing products and training sales force on products and product strategies.
- 2002 to 2006: Marley Cooling Technologies, Sales Support Manager (Constructed Products) – Responsible for direct leadership to Proposal Management staff, develop selling strategies to support field sales force, lead contract negotiations, report bookings and bid activity, develop marketing literature and training materials, gather and analyze product and industry data, and recommend and implement product and process improvements.
- 1998 to 2002: Marley Cooling Technologies, Proposal Manager – Responsible for supporting the sales force by selecting equipment, developing sales strategies, recommend pricing and profit levels to management, specification review for power, industrial and HVAC projects involving wood, fiberglass, concrete and specialty cooling towers. Accountable for proposal preparation, and contract review and negotiation.
- 1990 to 1998: Marley Cooling Tower Company, Project/Senior Engineer for Concrete Cooling Tower Products – Responsible for developing specifications and design criteria, modeling and testing components and systems, preparation of structural and cooling tower system designs and drawings, site inspections during and after construction, cooling tower inspections, reports and forensic engineering.
