CURRENT RESPONSIBILITIES

Jean-Pierre plans, directs and controls the technical matters involving thermal ratings and optimizations, mechanical equipment selections, hydraulic calculations (particularly in the case of plume-abated cooling towers), acoustics, water chemistry, thermodynamic R&D and related product development activities.

Jean-Pierre’s main responsibilities include thermal performance evaluations and ratings of all counterflow and crossflow mechanical draft, natural draft and plume-abated towers, evaluations and selections related to low sound applications, water chemistry effects and drift rates, R&D related to fills, spray nozzles and drift eliminators, development of methodologies and software to facilitate thermal and acoustic selections, technical support to Business Development Managers, training of EvapTech and Evapco employees in the theory, methodologies and tools developed to evaluate and rate thermal performance, sound effects and drift applications, tower inspections, technical specification review, field problem resolution related to thermal aspects.

  • Active Member of the Cooling Technology Institute (C.T.I.) since 1985

RELATED WORK EXPERIENCE

Extensive cooling tower industry experience acquired since 1979 in a variety of assignments in Belgium, Mexico and the U.S.A.:

  • 2006 to Present: EvapTech, Technical Director
  • 2004 to 2006:  Anemos Consulting, Owner/Principal – Consulting Engineer providing expert advice in thermal, mechanical, hydraulic, acoustic and aerodynamic design and analysis of water cooling towers and their components.
  • 2001 to 2003:  Hamon Cooling Tower Company, Technical Director – Ensured that all company-designed cooling towers performed in accordance with the technical guarantees; attended and witnessed all performance and acceptance tests; provided technical support and training to proposal managers and project managers in various business units in the USA.
  • 1994 to 2001: Hamon Mexico, Managing Director – Legal representative of Hamon in Mexico, accountable for the net financial results of the company branch office; negotiated sales contracts, purchase orders and local representation agreements.
  • 1985 to 1993:  Hamon Cooling Tower Company, Vice President of Engineering – Coordinated technical proposals and engineering drawings with the home office; scheduled, revised and approved drawings and design changes; coordinated Q.C., start-up and commissioning activities; developed a Q.A. program to comply with ISO-9001 and ANSI Q90.
  • 1979 to 1985: Hamon Cooling Tower Company, Thermal Engineer and Technical Coordinator in the corporate office.
